Obsessive-compulsive disorder ranges from mild behaviors to extreme behaviors, thoughts feelings and actions that rule a person's whole life.
Usually people who get treatment for OCD have had their problem for years.
OCD can express differently in different people, but theunderlying mechanismis the same….obsessive thoughts leading to obsessive actions. If those thoughts or actions are interrupted, anxiety and or fear is often felt.
When obsessing or acting compulsively some feel 'spaced out' or experience 'time disappearing.
In essence there is a narrowing down of focus of attention at a given trigger. The person becomes inwardly absorbed as the imagination becomes more 'real' than external reality.
So...how can Hypnosis help?
By getting to the rootcause of the thoughts and extracting the fear out of not carrying out the behaviour.
